NCC Freelancer Account

NCC Freelancer Account is a Special Foreign Currency (FCY) Account for Individual Freelancers. It’s a kind of ERQ account which will be bundled with any NCC Current or NCC Savings Account. And together it'll be considered under NCC Freelancer Account. Purpose of this account is to directly remit freelancer’s foreign earnings Retention of foreign currency earned from freelancing income (as permissible by Bangladesh Bank) in ERQ FC account and linked NCC CASA BDT a/c.

  • Exporters of software, data entry/processing, and other ICT-related services may retain 70% of net export earnings repatriated in foreign exchange in ERQ accounts & Service exporters other than those mentioned above may retain 60% of their repatriated export receipts in ERQ accounts against services rendered in non-physical form.
  • Opportunity to explore attractive facilities like International Debit/Prepaid Card and Free Conversion of FCY to BDT (from Freelancer Account to Linked CASA Account).
  • Neither any balance is required for NCC Freelancer account opening nor any charge for NCC Freelancer account maintenance.
  • CASA account is mandatory to open an NCC Freelancer Account.
  • Access to NCC Always App.
  • Internet Banking: Annual fee will be waived from the 2nd year if the 1st year's monthly average balance is BDT 1,00,000 or more; otherwise, the fee will be as per the CASA schedule of charges of the Bank.
  • Only AD branches are allowed to open this account, but Non-AD branches can source the account and keep the BDT part account at their end & park the Freelancer ERQ account to any AD or permission-limited AD branch (if any).
  • No interest will be paid against the ERQ account.
  • Fees & Charges of NCC Freelancer Account: As per the schedule of charges (SOC).
  • Credit Card facility against NCC Freelancer Account: Available subject to the lien of the whole amount of ERQ (Freelancer a/c) balance & credit policy of NCC Bank PLC for credit cards.
  • For personal loan facility: CRM and BB policy is recommended.
  • e-statement enrollment is free of charge.
  • SMS alert fee is free for the 1st year.
  • Free Quarterly Remittance Certificate.
  • Waiver on locker charge: 50% waiver on regular locker rent from the 2nd year upon maintaining an average balance of BDT 1,00,000 and above in the linked CASA for the first year (otherwise locker charges will be as per the schedule of charges of the Bank).
  • Any resident Bangladeshi individual freelancer involved in service export businesses* such as earning foreign currency through outsourcing from abroad (inward remittances against export of software, ICT services, business services, professional/research and advisory services, etc.).
  • Having a valid Freelancer ID issued by Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society (BFDS).
  • Age: 18 years and above.
  • Mode of Operation: Singly (Joint accounts not allowed).
  • Fund Release Restriction: No amount will be allowed to release on ERQ A/c except for declared purposes (For details, refer to GFET - Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions-2018, Vol-1, CH-13, Sec-IV).
  • NCCB PLC prescribed account opening form.
  • NID/Valid Passport/BRC with duly attested photo ID of the account holder.
  • Valid supporting documents confirming the address.
  • Passport-size photograph (2 copies).
  • Nominee photograph (1 copy) attested by the account holder on the backside.
  • Nominee NID/Passport (valid)/BRC with duly attested photo ID of the nominee.
  • A copy of a recent agreement/contract between the service exporter and the buyer/service importer abroad.
  • E-TIN & latest acknowledgment receipt of income tax return/Income Tax Certificate.
  • Copy of government-provided Freelancer ID (e.g., Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society - BFDS).
  • Membership Certificate of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) - Optional.
  • Membership Certificate of Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) - Optional.
  • Work order or email/communication containing work order of the last 03 items worked on within the last six (6) months, mentioning the amount earned in FCY from legitimate freelancing platforms.
  • During account opening, the branch may request any other appropriate documents depending on the services like business services, professional/research, and advisory services rendered from Bangladesh, as acceptable by the Bank.
  • No FCY (cash or transfer) bought in the local or international market or foreign exchange earnings on account of indenting commission or agency commission for export from Bangladesh can be credited to such accounts since these incomes originate from Bangladesh sources.
