"NCC Islamic", Shari'ah based Islamic Banking activities of NCC Bank Ltd. has started its operations. In this regard, Chairman of the Bank Md. Abul Bashar and Vice-Chairman Sohela Hossain formally inaugurated NCC Islamic Banking activities and flagship Islamic banking branch at Gulshan-2, Dhaka on today (27/11/2022, Sunday). Managing Director & CEO of the Bank Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid presided over the ceremony. Besides, Past Chairman & Chairman of the Risk Management Committee Alhaj Md. Nurun Newaz, Past Chairman & Chairman of the Executive Committee S. M. Abu Mohsin, Director & Past Vice Chairman Khairul Alam Chaklader and Director Mohammed Sazzad Un Newaz along with Members of the Shari'ah Supervisory Committee Dr. Md. Anwar Hosain Molla were present on the occasion.
Deputy Managing Director's, Member’s of the Senior Management Team, Divisional Head of Head Office along with other Senior Branch Managers of NCC Bank Ltd. and local elites & prominent businessmen, valued customers & well wishers were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
Chairman of the Bank Md. Abul Bashar in his speech said that NCC Bank is committed to provide the best & technology based innovative banking services to meet the needs of the customers in prompt and secure way. Considering the importance of Islamic banking in the socio economic context of Bangladesh, NCC Bank has launched a full-fledged Islamic banking branch at Gulshan-2, Dhaka. In addition to this conventional banking, Shari'ah based Islamic Banking will help to develop overall economy of the country as well as banking sector. He urged the businessmen and professionals to avail the facilities offered by NCC Islamic to expand their ventures.
Managing Director & CEO Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid said that considering the present condition, challenges and prospects for development of Islamic banking in Bangladesh, NCC Bank with the permission of Bangladesh Bank has started Shari'ah based Islamic Banking activities. Initially, we have started a full-fledged Islamic banking branch as well as Islamic banking Service Desk in other 04 branches. Gradually we will introduce Islamic banking Service Desk in all of our branches & sub-branches. He also said that the products & services are designed in line with the guideline of the Holy Qua’ran & Hadith in full compliance with Shari'ah law. He hoped that this new journey will expand our services and able to fulfill our customers’ demand.
