NCC Bank will provide financial assistance of Tk. 90 lac to a research project related to the development of “Prilled Urea Applicator” agriculture machinery of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) under special CSR in the agriculture sector. In presence of M. Shamsul Arefin, Managing Director & CEO (C.C.) of NCC Bank Dr. Md Shahjahan Kabir, Director General (Grade-1) of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) and Md. Monirul Alam, SEVP & Company Secretary of NCC Bank signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations at the Bank’s Head Office on Wednesday (17/04/2024). Besides, Md. Mahbub Alam, Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan & Md. Zakir Anam, Deputy Managing Directors, Mohammed Mizanur Rahman FCA, SEVP & CFO, Mohammed Anisur Rahman, SEVP & CIO, Syed Hasnain Mamun, SVP & Head of Human Resources Division, SVP of Credit Risk Management Division of NCC Bank, Dr. Md. Golam Kibria Bhuiyan, PSO, Dr. Mohammah Kamruzzaman, Principal Investigator & Senior Scientific Officer & Mizanur Rahman, SO of Farm Machinery & Post Harvest Technology Division of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute were also present on the occasion.

Dr. Md Shahjahan Kabir, Director General of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute mentioned that supporting agricultural research projects is a great initiative of the Bank and thanked the NCC Bank’s authorities for co-operating the research project like the development of “Prilled Urea Applicator” agriculture machinery for 30% less use of urea fertilizer in paddy land. He hopes that through this applicator urea fertilizer will be placing deep into the soil which will help to reduce Green House Gas emissions.

M. Shamsul Arefin, Managing Director & CEO (C.C.) of NCC Bank said that NCC Bank has already supported the marginal farmers to cultivate a single inch of land across the country as a part of social responsibility as announced by Hon’ble Prime Minister. He added that, apart from providing loan facilities at lower interest rate, the Bank has distributed various types of seeds, fertilizer, pesticides & saplings among 15,000 marginal farmers across the country free of cost. In continuation of that, NCC Bank is providing financial assistance to develop “Urea Applicator” research project for less use of fertilizer in paddy land and it will continue in other agricultural projects in future.
